“I was very impressed with the FastPark service at Edinburgh airport, which is the easiest airport parking service I've ever experienced. The FastPark location was well signposted and easy to find, and, although it was our first time (and it was stupidly early in the morning so we weren't functioning too well 🤦🏻♀️) and we weren't sure we were following the correct process at a couple of points, the process itself was really easy, and friendly staff were on hand to answer our questions and provide reassurance and guidance when needed.
The airport terminal building is within very easy walking distance of the drop-off location and is well signposted. It only took a couple of minutes to reach the terminal building after dropping our keys off. This was ideal as we had heavy luggage so didn't want to walk a long way. Free luggage trollies were also available when parking the car.
The computer system in the car park reception building to check the car in was quick and easy to use, although a lady helpfully also talked us through this, and advised us to drop our keys into the chute as we exited the building, as well as advising us how and where to collect our keys on our return. A receipt was issued, which had a collection barcode and gave details of which colour lockers to go to to collect the keys on return.
The return leg was nearly as smooth, although the signposts could have been better as we got slightly confused on our way back - the signs back to FastPark seemed to stop at one point, so we had to ask someone, who confirmed we were heading the right way. Collecting the keys was smooth and straightforward - we headed for the lockers stated on our receipt and scanned the barcode, which opened the relevant locker for us to retrieve our keys, which had a tag attached confirming the parking location of the car. The screen had also confirmed this location, which I'd taken a photo of in case it wasn't on the tag, however, I hadn't realised that the screen also showed a map of where this was, which is really helpful, and would have been useful to us if I had have realised! 🤦🏻♀️ We then headed out to find our car and exited the car park.
I would definitely use FastPark again and would highly recommend it. Edinburgh isn't our local airport, so we were in unfamiliar territory, but using FastPark made our airport experience a lot easier, as we often find that parking is the most stressful element at the airport, and I hope our local airport can learn from this and that the same process can be adopted by them in the future.”
