On arrival barrier scan did not scan my booked reg plate. No shuttle bus and long walk to terminal with small child and baggage. On return buzzer assistant let me out after I explained situation but with comments I parked on wrong car park which is not true as I used this service many times before.

Thank you for your review. I can confirm the shuttle bus has been reinstated to and from the plane parking car park. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

Parking very easy to manage and I felt my car was safe there. Only fault was the surface being filthy. My wife had white trousers on and got oily muck on them from lifting a suitcase into the car.

Good directions. Tight parking spaces. My plane was delayed for 10 hours and I had to pay an extra £45. Not impressed with what I consider an excessive charge , equates to £4.50 per hour

Thank you for your review. I understand the frustration that will have been caused by the flight delay and I’m sorry to hear that your delay resulted in an additional charge at the car park barrier. As advised in our terms and conditions, if you enter or exit out with the grace period, you will be subject to our roll-up rates as the time you have occupied was not pre-planned. I would encourage you to reach out to your airline to seek reimbursement for the fee incurred due to the delayed flight. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

What can you say about a car park? Parking was fine but I did get very wet walking to the airport and stepping through numerous puddles. I thought that there used to be a regular bus link to the terminal. It is a pity that this has been discontinued.

Thank you for your review. Our long stay shuttle bus was suspended in 2020 and the car park is an approximate 12 minute walk to the terminal. The long stay car park is marketed as a facility that does not have a shuttle bus and this is confirmed on our website and booking confirmations. Our team are aware that during adverse weather puddles can form within the walking route. We are currently looking into the most suitable solution to rectify the issue. Please accept our apologises for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

Couldn't fault the parking. The average review is due to the cost.

I only needed 4hrs parking to drop someone off. I went onto website to find prices for short stay but could only do a search which came back as 29 for terminal parking (very expensive!). I paid, however when I turned up. Terminal parking had price per hour at the gates and it would only have cost me 20. So I've been ripped off + bad information on website. Actial parking is fine.

Better parking for disabled drivers

Edinburgh Airport itself is far too small for the number of flights it has, and this is reflected in the parking. Too long a walk with very poor pedestrian facilities.

Thought I'd nothing better to do than scan my barcode and I'd be set...not the case. The screen wants flight numbers, flight times, airline name, destination, etc etc before I could hand my keys in, so be prepared. Paid extra to get through security quicker...that was definitely worth doing, even at 3am. On our return, getting our keys was pretty painless...scanned the code and had our keys within a minute. But the handwritten bay number wasn't very clear...spent 10 minutes looking for G6 when it was actually C6. Thought the fastpark facility would've had a covered walkway to/from the terminal...got soaked going & coming. It's scotland fgs.

I prepaid the long stay car park for 16 days @ £69, which I thought was quite reasonable. When I first arrived at the barrier to park, I expected the barrier to lift automatically, but when it didn't I took a ticket and the gate opened. I parked and it took 15 minutes to walk to the terminal. On return after my trip, having no instructions to the contrary, I inserted the ticket in a pay machine thinking it would just confirm my prepayment. Instead, to my surprise, I was faced with a bill of £434. I cancelled the transaction, drove to the exit barrier, and when it didn't lift, inserted the ticket and was met by the same request for £434! I pressed the help button and when connected gave my licence number and the gate lifted. I have no idea if this was a system failure or whether I had not followed procedure, as there were no instructions. A bit of a shock at 3am, after a 3 hour flight delay courtesy of Ryanair!

Thank you for your review. It sounds as though our automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system hasn't registered you upon entry. When this occurs, it means our system doesn't match you to your booking and you are then charged the roll-up rate in error upon exit. This doesn't happen often but when it does, I understand the frustration that it causes however I'm glad you managed to get it sorted at the time. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

Machine rejected my ticket on exiting. Had to request assistance, which sorted it. Not sure what had gone wrong.

Limited spaces and vehicles abandoned outwith marked parking spaces. No clear signage to show where to locate gateway to be used to access terminal.

Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear that you found it difficult to find a space in our car park. If ever faced with the same problem in future, please ring the intercom at the exit barrier and our team will provide a suitable alternative. Our car parks are signposted by wayfinding, located in key traffic areas. I’m sorry to hear that you found our wayfinding to be unhelpful. Please be assured that we are working hard to upgrade our wayfinding where required. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

We used the fast track parking system for the first time. We required special assistance for a disabled passenger but found the whole special assistance process to be difficult. The special assistance check in office was outside the main terminal and not easy to find. It was closed when we returned from holiday so not much use then. We got assistance off the plane but were abandoned at the baggage claim. I had to push both a wheelchair and a baggage trolley out through customs to arrivals. Fortunately a police woman saw our plight and helped us to the exit doors. Somebody needs to look at the Edinburgh Airport special assistance process and get a grip because it's nothing special and there's no meaningful assistance. Probably won't risk using it again.

We arrived for our flight at 3 am. It was very dark and many cars were parked out with the bays, with few remaining free bays. We knew there was no bus to the terminal but there was no obvious signage to get to Departures.

Usually have no issues with the parking here but this is the first time using the Plane Parking car park and have to say I wasn’t impressed. It is quite a long way away from the terminal and the signage for cars could be better. The car park itself isn’t properly surfaced either which I would have expected from the official airport parking. The bus service seemed regular and the driver was very helpful in explaining where we should pick the bus up in our return. The problem is that after 2 week’s holiday it’s not easy to recall and the signage out of the arrivals hall is inadequate. We ended up wandering around outside in the dark for a good 15-20 minutes while dragging our suitcases behind us (as there were no trolleys available in the terminal building), searching for the pick up point. When we asked a member of staff for directions he sent us in completely the wrong direction, in broken English. We eventually found our way after another staff member spotted us looking lost in another car park and directed us to the pick up area which it turned out is near the taxi rank. We were not the only ones who had difficulty finding our way after exiting the terminal, which backs up the view that the signage at the arrivals hall needs improving. I have been very happy with Edinburgh Airport parking in the past but would not use the Plane Parking car park again given the choice.

Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear you found our wayfinding confusing. Clear signage is one of the most important things to have in any busy environment, but especially in an airport. Please be assured that we are actively working on our wayfinding strategy, and we will ensure feedback, like yours, is brought into the discussion. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

Long stay car park needs a clear walk way. From the airport to the entrance of the carpark the signs are good. But there is no obvious walk way once you get to the entrance of the long stay carpark. A footpath through the LS park would be great - the carpark surface is very rough for pulling bags. Thank you.
